Currently playing at Théâtre de la Pépinière in Paris.
Under a threatening stormy sky, Richard, a director making a come-back, gives his first theatre class in a detention center. He hopes for high attendance, which would lead to more classes – and more work – but only two detainees show up: Kevin, a young mad dog, and Angel, a mute 50-year-old woman, who is just there to support her friend. Richard, assisted by one of his former actresses – actually his ex-wife – and by an inexperienced female social worker, decides to give the class anyway…
A moving text that immerses the audience in the world of prison… it brings a lot into question and is deeply stirring.
